Right from the announcement of its title, there was some disapproval related with Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om Bhatia Productions’ OMG OH MY GOD! The all English title was smirked at by many who careful the anglicized title as unsuitable and unimpressive and unidentifiable.
Even the theme of ‘Kanjibhai versus God’ was glared upon keeping the Indian sacred sentiments in mind with people questioning the fact that in a traditional Indian society, not many are going to accept the theme where the religious ‘aastha’ (faith/belief) of the people are challenged.
However, all that went for a toss with the very first promo (with Salman’s commentary) followed by the theatrical trailer of the Paresh Rawal starrer. The very amusing, and novel manner in which the sensitive topic was handled was quite evident from the dialogue promos. And the hype just got a real kick-start with the entry of superstar Akshay Kumar essaying an interesting cameo, that of Lord Krishna and the superb chemistry that Akki-Paresh share is visible to all.
With a chart-buster in the form of ‘Go Govinda’ already under its belt and some good music by Himesh Reshammiya one can easily predict a winner in Akshay’s OMG! OH MY GOD when the film releases all over on 28th September 2012.
The first mystery of Yash Chopra’s untitled next starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma was released recently. However, the teaser only had the hints of the trio and nothing much was exposed about their individual characters in the much talked about film. But now the closely-guarded look & the details of characters is out.
The makers have come up with the pictures of the first lead star, Shahrukh Khan as an army officer named Samar (as hinted in the images). Shahrukh, who is currently shooting the last schedule of the said film in Ladakh, was clicked while filming a scene on the roads. Dressed as an army officer, Shahrukh Khan is seen equine a heavy bike.
Shahrukh sporting pilots and his rough stubble look quite adds to his character of an army officer.
However, just last year the feat was reached by the Salman Khan starrer, BODYGUARD. But that is not the end of the story!
As is by now famous, first with WANTED and trailed by DABANGG and BODYGUARD, Eid and Salman Khan are now a sure shot assurance for blockbuster success. And there is no exception to the rule this time too.
As per the stats available with us, after a pick up on Saturday and good jump on Sunday, the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer has already netted around 95 crore from India. The collections are expected to hit the roof today (Eid) and EK THA TIGER is sure to cross the 100 crore mark on just its sixth day!
The bumper and forecast run for the Kabir Khan directed ETT is expected to continue, and the film is likely to cross the 150 crore mark by Thursday (9 days).

What would you expect when Salman Khan, Kabir Khan and Yash Raj Films team up – a super masala entertainer, right?
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ watched very hopeful prior to its release and the film does entertain you to an extent but also forces you to miracle if you truly want to mockery your intelligence.
After ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ – yet another Eid release of Salman Khan – might just make it to the Rs. 100 crore club, courtesy his unbelievable fan following and an interesting first half. But the film sadly falls in the same trick like other Salman films which absence content.
After a successful mission in Iraq, Tiger is now trusted with the task of collecting external intelligence by spying on a Trinity College Professor, who has seemingly been approached by the ISI for sharing missile technology secrets.
Tiger flies down to Dublin, the Irish capital, to follow the Professor. And that is where he ends up meeting his ladylove (Zoya) Katrina Kaif, the professor’s residence caretaker. Tiger introduces himself as Manish Chandra, a writer, and seeks her help in getting an appointment with the professor.
Zoya extends all possible help to a shelter-less Manish and befriends him. And that is when seeds of romance are sowed!
Though Tiger knows that he is on a mission and he dare not fall in love, he loses his heart to Zoya, who could act as a substance in providing information about the professor. Tiger is constantly reminded of his duties by Gopi (Ranvir Shorey), his colleague, not to lose his heart while on a mission but he does approve of Tiger’s choice of a Bhabhi for him!
Zoya, who also happens to be a dance teacher, invites Tiger for a show and here is where you would find a twist in the tale!
After an incredible ‘Kabul Express’ and somewhat gritty `New York`, a masala entertainer like ETT wasn’t expected from director Kabir Khan. Yash Raj Films has certainly spent a whopping amount on the exotic locations that are a treat to watch but haven’t helped the film gain a cult status.
However, the film does have superbly directed action sequences, foot-tapping songs by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid, and a tinge of Salman Khan`s special comedy that does make you cheer.
And mostly importantly, though Salman and Katrina deny being in a relationship in real life, their chemistry onscreen looks every bit convincing. And the duo is an absolute delight to the eyes!
But overall, the film does disappoint you for it fails to deliver what it promised.
If you are a Salman Khan fan, you would love it for sure and the movie might rake-in the moolah because of the superstar! It will certainly entertain you if you leave your brains outside the theatre!
